Female on trailside vegetation near Shinam, 1400m.
A similar individual with a paler, straw yellow abdomen was photographed 1 month earlier at Chainpur in East Nepal.
Our ID as female Calicnemia miniata is based on description in Handbook of Common Indian Dragonflies (T.R. Mitra, 2006), particularly (1) black dorsal markings on distal abdominal segments (beginning at distal end of S6) and (2) apical black rings on S3-6. (Note also posterior surfaces of limbs are dark.)
A male of C. miniata was photographed at the same site as the Shinam female. Females of Calicnemia eximia were also observed in the Shinam area.
