Note on nomenclature: Graham Vick and others have recognized a clear distinction between "Ischnura rufostigma" in the Pokhara area and in the Kathmandu Valley. In Vick (1989), on the advice of Lieftinck, he identified the Kathmandu Valley form as I. carpentieri Lieftinck, a species described from Thailand. Subsequently, Asahina (1991) advocated the designation I. montana, which Vick (pers. comm. 2012) accepts and recommends.
