In Vick (1989), on the advice of Lieftinck, he identified the Kathmandu Valley form as I. carpentieri Lieftinck, a species described from Thailand. Subsequently, Asahina (1991) advocated the designation I. montana, which Vick (pers. comm. 2012) accepts and recommends.
